Formula One and motorsport fans alike are mourning the passing of young F1 driver Jules Bianchi. Due to the huge crash back in stormy Suzuka 2014, his car aquaplaned and hit a support tractor at a staggering 92 G. He will dearly be missed. However, let us remember the biggest achievement Bianchi has ever done.
Monaco, 2014. Jean-Eric Vergne got problems with his exhaust; Valtteri Bottas suffered from an engine failure; and Esteban Gutierrez wrecked his rear suspension. If these chain of retirements didn't happen, Bianchi wouldn't have taken eighth. Granted, his team was given a five-second penalty for an illegal pit stop during the safety car run. In the end, he was classified in the final grid as ninth, earning himself and Marussia their first ever point!
"Finally, I have a point! Woo!" That was his genuine reaction to a milestone of his career as an F1 driver. He made history for Manor Motorsport! Sadly, it was also his last milestone. Wherever you are, Jules...race in paradise, mon ami.
